Healthy Baby – Baby Development Check-up (0–24 months)
The POGA Rehabilitation Center offers a new program: "Healthy Baby." It involves the early assessment and monitoring of an infant's functional status. This assessment is conducted using internationally recognized tools employed by specialists in Europe, the USA, Australia, and the most developed countries in Asia.
The physiotherapists at Centrs POGA are trained to assess the early nervous system and functional status of infants using the Prechtl (Netherlands) and HINE-Hammersmith (UK) assessment methods. The program is suitable for children from birth to 24 months of age.
The program is an evidence-based assessment that allows for a detailed analysis of the functional state of an infant's nervous system and the quality of their movements. The Prechtl assessment relies on observing the infant's spontaneous movements, providing information on central nervous system development and potential neurological risks, whereas the HINE assessment tool is a structured functional test that evaluates the child's muscle tone, reflexes, movement symmetry, posture, and behavior. Combining these two assessments provides a comprehensive, objective, and early evaluation of a child's neurological development, enabling the timely detection of deviations and the initiation of an appropriate rehabilitation process. The program includes an initial assessment and follow-up checks—if required—or provides recommendations regarding the child's developmental progress relative to their age.
During the initial consultation, specialists assess the infant's functional status and motor development. Following the consultation, the specialists prepare a report containing recommendations. These recommendations may include the need for a follow-up consultation in two months to evaluate the progression of motor development and its alignment with the infant's age, as well as referrals to other specialists if necessary. For infants requiring developmental support, the "PODZIŅA" early rehabilitation program—provided by the POGA center (for ages 0–5)—may be recommended; see here.
