POGA is learning! AAC seminar held!
Thank you to speech-language pathologist Jeļena Kondratjeva for the opportunity for Latvian speech-language pathologists and other allied health professionals to acquire knowledge in alternative communication!
Seminars on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for beginners took place at the POGA center on June 16 and 17 of this year.
Over the course of two days, speech-language pathologists, functional specialists, social educators, behavior analysts, and other interested professionals gained both practical and theoretical knowledge regarding AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) capabilities. Seminar participants learned how to begin using AAC devices, develop effective AAC strategies, identify communication needs, and explore various forms of alternative communication. The practical component of the seminars was particularly valuable, as participants analyzed real-life cases, completed tasks, and acquired skills that could be applied in their work with clients.
We sincerely thank the excellent lecturer and speech-language pathologist Jeļena Kondratjeva, Arbor Medical for the devices, and the Latvian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists for their support.
