Medical care for children

Paediatric occupational therapy

As part of a rehabilitation treatment course at the rehabilitation centre "Poga", children can receive the services of an occupational therapist.

The main purpose of occupational therapy is to help children and young people with different disorders to develop their potential in physical, emotional, social and productive capacities (playing skills, skills required in kindergarten, school, etc.).

The occupational therapist uses a variety of therapeutic techniques and activities to help in the development of various skills, such as self-care, and increase the level of independence, depending on the needs and abilities of the child or young person. The therapist also provides advice on various types of technical aids, adaptation of the environment to specific needs. And if necessary, makes individual orthoses for hands and fingers.
