The POGA team is mastering a new method – DMI!
Physiotherapists at the POGA Center are learning a new physiotherapy method—DMI!
DMI Therapy (Dynamic Movement Intervention) is an intensive physiotherapy method designed for children with developmental, neurological, or movement disorders. Its goal is to promote motor skills, posture, balance, and movement control by activating the child's nervous system through purposeful and dynamic movements.
The method is based on the principle of neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to form new neuronal connections. During therapy, the physiotherapist uses various postures, movement challenges, and balance exercises to encourage the child to actively engage in movement and develop functional skills.
DMI is frequently used for children with cerebral palsy, genetic syndromes, muscle tone disorders, or developmental delays, and is typically tailored to individual needs. The two-day training course covered Level A of the method and resulted in certification, enabling the integration of DMI techniques into daily practice. Colleagues will continue their training to ensure that full DMI therapy becomes available at POGA.
